Moreefficient becomes Business Partner Curriculum Link for GPUTC

We are proud to say that we have teamed up with the Greater Peterborough University Technical College (UTC) to help develop the existing English curriculum to better prepare their students.

Education sets the foundational skills for future generations; or at least it should.

At Moreefficient, we care strongly about the education of children and want to ensure that as the world evolves, so does the education they receive. Whilst the Government and the Department for Education are making noises about becoming a leading country in relation to AI, we believe the changes are too slow, and ineffective.

That is why we are proud to say that we have teamed up with the Greater Peterborough University Technical College (UTC) to help develop the existing English curriculum to better prepare their students. When working with AI, particularly generative AI, it is important that students have the right skills, information literacy, critical thinking and creativity. We will be helping create student projects that demand the use of AI and that will test the students in engaging ways. As technology and the workplace change, helping students develop the core skills required for the future is imperative. We will be taking interesting and alternative texts, creating alternative story-lines, examining the prompts and language used to achieve the results and what happens when you change the language used.

The students we met at GPUTC recently were far more perceptive about the challenges than many adults are; calling out cognitive decline, the need to move on from rote learning and the very academic approach that is currently embedded in so many of our learning programs.

Sonia Rogers from GPUTC said of the collaboration that it is ‘to develop projects and support our students to get the most out of the English Language that will enable them to use AI effectively as a tool now and for their future.’ This partnership is hopefully the first of many as we continue to challenge education to modernise and provide our children with the skills they need. Our goal is to start embedding AI in all aspects of the curriculum, not just at GPUTC, but nationally and in a manner that is pragmatic, available to all, and relevant as they move into the workplace.
